Welcome Back!

I hope everyone had an enjoyable and restful summer and had an opportunity to spend a lot of time with family and friends.  As we start the 2017 – 2018 school year I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our teacher-coaches for the incredible amount of time and energy they put into their respective teams and schools year after year.  Without these people and their contributions, high school sport would not be what it is today.

I want to wish the best of luck to all coaches and athletes this year as they compete in their various leagues, tournaments and championships.  I hope that everyone is able to compete to the best of their ability and remain safe throughout their travels.

I would also like to welcome Paul Whalen from Nicholson Catholic College into his new role as COSSA president.  We look forward to the contributions Paul will make in his new leadership role and thank him in advance for the time and energy that he will put into his role as president.

I would like to acknowledge Quinte S.S. for their successful application to host the OFSAA A/AA Boys’ Rugby Championship in June of 2018.  It is a huge undertaking to host an OFSAA championship and I am confident that Quinte S.S. will represent COSSA well in the hosting of this event.  Best of luck as the committee works throughout the year to put this championship together.

As we all head back to school, I hope everyone has a great school year both in the academic realm and in the athletic realm.  I look forward to seeing many of you throughout the year and celebrating COSSA athletics as we work hard to make it a success.
